Did you know the NHS has predicted this to be the worst flu season so far? A strain has made its way over from Australia Scientists in Australia have warned that the country is experiencing its worst flu season on record. Australia has reported 98,000 confirmed cases of the flu this season - more than double the rate it was this time last year. There are also twice as many people hospitalised.
So, it is vital to get the flu jab this year.
We will be doing a walk in flu clinic everyday starting 25th September 12-1. Please book at reception.
If you are aged between 70 -74 or are 78 and 79 you are entitled to the shingles jab. This can be done the same time as the flu jab.
For any other times please talk to reception
Who is entitled to the flu jab?
- Anyone over 65
- Currently Pregnant
- Asthma or COPD
- chronic heart disease, such as heart failure;
- chronic kidney disease at stage three, four or five;
- chronic liver disease;
- chronic neurological disease, such as Parkinson’s
- A weakened immune system due to disease (such as HIV/AIDS) or treatment (such as cancer treatment);
- morbid obesity
- Children aged 2&3 years old

Brighton and Sussex Medical School works closely with this practice to train medical students to become doctors. We are involved in the teaching of medical students which means sometimes we will have medical students sitting into learn from our GPs and nurses.
If you do not wish to have students present please inform reception. Any decision you make will not affect your treatment. If you do consent to students, you may still ask the students to leave at any time should you change your mind. If you have any concerns, please discuss these with a member of the practice team.
